2007 "Tempestuous" Tempranillo - San Benito
After being awarded one of the top ten wines at the Cal-Italia event in San Francisco, this luscious wine hails from the foothills of Ron Siletto's Santa Ana valley vineyard, the premier area of San Benito County - A part of the original Santa Ana Spanish land grant.
The only Spanish varietal we make, this grape captured our hearts. We call it our “Anytime Wine” because it goes with just about any meal. A soft press on this grape, to keep the tannins silky, plus a small addition of our estate Sangiovese completely changes the character of this wine. Subtle earthiness, unique bouquets flood the senses. Sometimes its blueberry and sometimes it’s something else. The Sangiovese brings the acidity necessary to brighten this anytime wine
